The picture below is of the Centenary Monument area at Mall Chattar, Dhaka University. I sat there for hours only to conclude: it's crap. Credit for shitting this place goes to Niin Architects, Institute of Architects Bangladesh and the jury of DU, who approved of the design. What they did wasn't necessity of innovation. It was careless ego and subcontracted cruelty.

A natural, usable space for students was turned into an unsafe, unpleasant, unsupportive^, suffocating slab of concrete. A design that killed life instead of serving it. And yet, these so-called architects will still pat themselves on the back for it. How come they study architecture for years and only come up with things stupider than an uneducated person's common sense?
These "professionals", whether in architecture or any other field, are often just scammers who learned how to navigate contracts and exploit bureaucracy, not how to do their part in society. They don't care about others, don't care about purpose, don't care about responsibility. They put effort into making the world ugly. They only care about contracts, fees, and showing off the paper that lets them do whatever they want. They shove their 'credentials' into people's mouths and build garbage – as if a certificate relieves them from moral duty.
If everyone does their job properly, and I know we can, the earth will turn into heaven, and I know we want a heaven. But instead, we choose the system's loopholes. The same system that was supposed to restrict abuse is now weaponized by the people it licensed. Simply because, WE blame the system while secretly shaking hands with it when our turn comes to get favored by it.
Kazi Nazrul Islam nailed the core of the problem: "যার মনে মিথ্যা সে-ই মিথ্যাকে ভয় করে"^ – those who harbor falsehood inside will fear falsehood outside. It's about self-knowledge and moral courage: if you know your truth, you won't bow to "convenient" lies; you won't hide behind formalities while doing harm.
Professionals must do more than sign papers: know their truth, keep their standards, and improve their work continuously. Otherwise they are indistinguishable from criminals who use expertise to harm, bugs of civilization.
